Sharing Our Expertise

JCIC has been playing a leading role on Canada’s top business news program.

Bloomberg News Network is Canada’s leading source of business news on television. Recently, JCIC’s Cameron Scrivens and Kai Lam have been making appearances on their afternoon market review show called “The Close.”

Here is an excerpt from Cameron’s most recent appearance, talking about Uber as an investment opportunity.

These appearances are a great opportunity for us to share the unique approach that JCIC uses to manage our portfolios. If you would like to see highlights of other recent TV appearances, you can find them on our YouTube channel.

Our YouTube channel is also a great place to point friends and family if they have questions about their own investment options. In fact, JCIC is currently open to taking on new investors who are referred to us by existing clients.

We can even offer them a complimentary ‘portfolio review’ if they just want someone to take an honest, objective look at their current investment approach. Please reach out to your Relationship Manager to set that up.

Keeping Your Assets Protected

JCIC Asset Management is in the process of asking all our clients to add or confirm the name of a ‘Trusted Person’ for their file. This helps us to keep you, your investments, and your legacy safe.

A Trusted Person is exactly what it sounds like: a person in your close circle who has your best interests at heart. They should be someone with a general awareness of your financial situation but not directly involved in it. Often that is a sibling or best friend. We do not recommend you use your adult children, business partner, or spouse as they are directly impacted by your financial decisions, and it is difficult for them to have an objective perspective.

We will only contact your Trusted Person if we have reason to believe that something is amiss. They don’t have the authority to overrule your instructions, but they give us someone to talk to in case of suspected online scams, identity theft, cognitive decline, or other health issues.

For full details about the Trusted Person program please check out this information sheet.

If you have any questions about your own investments, or those of a friend or family member, don’t hesitate to reach out to our relationship managers.
