Stephen’s career is defined by a rare blend of legal rigor, investment experience, and entrepreneurial success.
Before joining JCIC, he practiced law with McCarthy Tétrault, formerly McCarthy & McCarthy, for 25 years, where he specialized in taxation law and estate planning.
In 1999, Stephen founded Newton House Investments, which later merged with JCIC. Beyond public markets, he has also served as a successful lead investor in private ventures across the chemical, telecommunications, and medical product industries.
His broad experience allows him to advise on complex matters involving trusts, pensions, foundations, and the purchase and sale of businesses.
